The M&A team at BDO in Manchester has advised the Count of Ten Group on its sale to We Are Global Ltd. This is BDO’s second deal in 12 months in the events space giving us a strong understanding of the latest market dynamics and key players.
Count of Ten ("COT"), established in 2005, has grown from one festival for 200 people to a portfolio of three festivals across the UK with the largest festival attracting almost 25,000 people.
BDO has now worked with a number of independent festivals including Y Not, COT’s flagship festival, which is in its 11th year and is hosting the likes of Editors, Madness and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and Festival No.6 in Portmeirion.
A favourable market dynamic can be seen right across the leisure sector with increased appetite for deals in live and mass participation events. The Count of Ten deal was a prime example of buyers and sellers taking advantage of this active market.
“BDO was the perfect partner for this transaction, their deep sector knowledge coupled with their hard work and determination has given us the result we wanted. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending BDO in the future.”
Ralph Broadbent, Managing Director Count of Ten Group
