BDO UK names new Head of Business Restructuring

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Tim Betts as the firm’s new Head of Business Restructuring, effective from 1 October 2024.

Tim will succeed Mark Shaw who was recently elected to become the UK firm’s new Managing Partner.

In his new role, Tim will lead a nationwide team of 22 partners and circa 150 staff offering a full range of services including: Restructuring Advisory & Insolvency, Public Sector & Not for Profit, Cross Border & Contentious Insolvency, Corporate Simplification, Pensions Covenant Advisory, Personal Insolvency and Special Situations M&A.

Tim first joined BDO as a graduate trainee in 2003, working his way up to partner in 2019.

During that time, he has led the Government & Not for Profit team in Business Restructuring, advising public sector, charity and educational organisations. Most recently, he has been the Chief Operating Officer of the wider Advisory business within BDO.

Commenting on his new role, Tim Betts said:
