BDO promotes 20 new partners across the firm
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced the promotion of 20 new partners across its tax, audit and advisory teams.
The promotions were delayed from June 2020 as a result of COVID-19 and are effective from 1st January 2021.
This set of promotions include six people in BDO’s audit practice: Adam Spires, Ben Courts, Graham Ellis, Rob di Santo, Spencer Ashworth and Tom Laird.
In the firm’s tax team, Carole Le Page, Ed Peters, Lee Coccaro, Lucy Sauvage, Martin Haines, Thomas To and Vinesh Bharadwa have all been promoted.
Within the advisory team, Luke Patterson (Financial Services Advisory), Jingru Liu (China Advisory), Conor Lambert (Transaction Services), Mark Thornton (Business Restructuring), Paul Dawson (Business Outsourcing), Jamie Carter (Business Outsourcing) and Jon Lanes (Risk Advisory) have also been named new partners in the business.
As a group, the new partners have significant experience across a wide range of sectors and specialisms including professional services, technology and media, financial services and private equity. Eight of the 20 promotions are outside of London, spanning the firm’s offices in the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire, Reading and Bristol.
Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, commented: “2020 was a testing year for businesses and individuals alike. None of us could have predicted that we would be working as a fully remote workforce for almost twelve months as a result of the pandemic.
“Last spring we put a number of measures in place to help us better weather the storm, including a pause on promotions. As we enter 2021 the country and economy faces ongoing challenges but we are determined to do all we can to invest in our people for the long term, this I am pleased to say, includes the promotion of 20 new partners.
“The process to become a partner is rigorous and challenging. Each one of our newly promoted partners holds the skills and characteristics that will support our aim of helping our clients and people succeed. A huge congratulations to them all.”
