Christopher Rowe

I am a tax partner who leads our indirect tax team in the Midlands, covering our Birmingham and Nottingham offices. 

Having started my career at PwC where I completed the ACA and CTA qualifications, I then worked in industry as an indirect tax manager at a global construction and agricultural equipment provider. I therefore understand the challenges of operating in industry, and equally how to ensure the services my team provides bring maximum value to my clients. 

Following my time in industry, I returned to practice, spending 8 and a half years at EY, where I had a diverse client portfolio, with particular sector focus in automotive, asset finance, manufacturing and retail. I then joined BDO in November 2022 as a partner. 

As well as leading in my local market across all aspects of VAT, I lead our automotive sector nationally for VAT, as I did in my previous role at EY. I have deep sector expertise in automotive, and a broad understanding of the industry challenges, and cross-tax issues. 

I also have a specialism in indirect tax technology and I am a lead partner nationally for this area. I have supported many clients with determining an indirect tax technology strategy/roadmap, implementing compliance tools and automating processes to help free-up time for clients and reduce risk.
