Global Employer Services
I am a partner in the Global Employer Services team, responsible for the expatriate and employment tax business across BDO’s Reading and Bristol offices. I advise my clients on employment tax and social security issues relating to their internationally mobile employees which range from business travellers, to assignments and local hire moves.
I have over 20 years’ experience, working with a variety of organisations across multiple sectors including having deeper sector specific knowledge in the natural resources sector. My clients include both businesses that are expanding internationally for the first time and those with a long established mobility programme. I support them on a practical level to understand their business requirements, what they are looking to achieve and how this can be done in the most efficient and compliant way.
My approach includes listening to my clients’ objectives and working with them to establish suitable options; there is no one size fits all. Ready-made solutions can be the answer, but they invariably need to be flexed to suit the situation. I utilise the wealth of experience we have as a firm to ensure clients receive holistic advice for their cross border workers. This includes bringing in colleagues from other specialisms such as global payroll, corporate taxes and BDO Drive, where a business needs to set up in a new location.
I am ATT qualified and have authored and edited our Global Employer Services Newsletter, as well as written for external publications. I am a frequent event speaker, including at global tax conferences and collaborative events with advisory firms and industry bodies such as the Department of Industry and Trade.
Outside of work I have a big passion for cars, and enjoy walking, playing squash and cycling. This enables me to clear my head and give me some time to stay focused.
