Mick Campbell

I am a Partner in the BDO UK Financial Services Advisory practice. From 2000-19 I was a financial services risk consultant at two of the Big 4 firms supporting clients across the financial services sector with enhancing their enterprise wide risk management, control and governance arrangements.

During my career my engagements included secondments into senior risk leadership roles, delivery of governance and risk management related projects, enterprise risk management projects and supporting clients with implementing initiatives to address PRA and FCA regulatory requirements.

From 2019 to early 2023 I led the second line of defence Risk & Compliance function for a global business process outsourcing organisation who service one of the UK’s largest insurance companies.
 

Previous experience

• S166 Skilled Person reviews for UK insurers covering enterprise risk management frameworks and governance arrangements
• Global Insurer 1 - Led a group wide governance, risk management and risk culture effectiveness review. This involved reviewing the individual and collective roles responsibilities between Business Unit functions and the Group
• Global Insurer 2 - Led project to define, design and implement the Group financial risk oversight target operating model across the Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial and Risk functions.
