I am an international tax partner specialising in supporting multinational businesses manage their international tax profile. This includes businesses investing into the UK, in particular investments made by US parented groups, and UK businesses with subsidiaries across the world.
I particularly enjoy working with clients in the manufacturing and technology sectors. I have always had an interest in how products are made, and how companies throughout history have innovated to revolutionise their supply chains and manufacturing processes. Also, the world of technology is ever evolving, and the international tax systems built prior to the digital world we now live in will continue to change to keep up.
I have nearly 20 years' experience working with multinational businesses in both sectors supporting them to manage their international tax profile in this fast-changing world. I worked in the International Tax and Transaction Services team within a Big 4 accounting firm for 12 years, spending time working in both the UK and New York, and during this time supported many UK and USA large and listed businesses.
I also have significant experience leading international tax teams across multiple jurisdictions to help clients implement complex business driven reorganisations, facilitate acquisitions and disposals, and effectively manage multi-territory tax controversy.
My technical specialisms are in several areas of UK tax legislation that are most relevant to multinational businesses, including the UK Hybrid and Other Mismatch rules, Diverted Profits Tax, Digital Services Tax, and the application of the UK Controlled Foreign Company rules.
I also have extensive experience of working with the UK tax authority to secure advanced certainty for clients in respect of complex international tax issues, as well as helping clients to successfully resolve tax controversy arising as a result of enquiries and assessments raised by HMRC.
