Tim Foster

Tim is a Partner with considerable experience of providing partnership internal audit, corporate governance and risk management solutions, to a portfolio of clients on behalf of both BDO and other Big 4 firms.

Tim joined BDO LLP at the beginning of 2013 after 5 years with KPMG to head up our Risk Advisory Services team in the Midlands. His focus is on servicing leading companies throughout the UK and the world across a number of sectors, including Consumer Goods & Retail, Diversified Industrials, Automotive and Utilities.

He has over 17 years’ experience in managing, delivering and coordinating assignments across multiple countries/regions, with a track record of successfully managing teams and streamlining controls and processes to focus on priorities.

He has managed a number of large internal audit contracts; two as Head of Internal Audit for FTSE250 clients reporting directly into the Board and their supporting committees. Tim has also spent four years setting up and running the assurance and internal control functions for a US multinational, delivering multiple SOX and FCPA audits and control design projects.

In addition to experience of global risk and assurance engagements, Tim specialises in auditing large scale business change and major projects, evaluating and designing financial and operational controls (including SOX, JSOX, COSO and COBIT), and for helping companies implement frameworks for managing risk and compliance with global legislation, anti-bribery and corruption.
