BDO names new Head of Transaction Services

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Derek Neil as its new Head of Transaction Services, effective today.

Derek joined BDO in 2004 following a period spent at a Big Four firm. He has 25 years’ experience of advising on transactions, predominantly in the tech sector, supporting entrepreneurs, private equity investors and corporates, and also spent a year at a London private equity house.

BDO’s 150-strong Transaction Services team provides tailored and focused due diligence services to help clients make the right decisions when completing a transaction such as an acquisition, sale, refinancing or fund raising. The team works closely with clients to manage risks, protect and maximise value, bringing together financial, tax, commercial, IT, ESG, industry and other specialists.

Derek picks up the reins from Chris Grove, who will continue with his role on the firm’s Leadership Team.

Commenting on Derek’s appointment, Simon Gallagher, Head of Advisory at BDO said:

“I’m delighted that Derek is going to take on this important role. Our Transaction Services team is already well established and respected in the market. I’m confident that with Derek’s leadership, we can build on these strong foundations, providing specialist tailored advice and helping more clients get their deals over the line.”
